Love, loss, and decadent goodies Batch of Love by Natasha D. Frazier is the perfect romance novel for anyone looking for a God centered uplifting story. For Ginger, a small-town baker looking to expand her baking business by winning a baking competition, finds herself in the middle of her ex’s plan to acquire her business for a big box retailer. Ginger must go against all the odds while dealing with her rekindled romantic feelings for ex.

I liked this sweet story of Ginger and Brock’s romance full of fun diverse characters and lots of plot twists. With an easy-to-read slow/medium pace, Batch of Love is sure to leave any reader with warm fuzzies when they’re done reading.  I was sure I knew who the winner would be for the baking competition, but I was pleasantly surprised it did not go the way I expected and was entangled in secrets and deception. I do wish the pace had been a little bit quicker, there were a few slow parts for me and scenes I didn’t think really added to the story or plot but endeavored to finish reading the story. I was determined to see what would become of Ginger and Brock.

Ginger is almost the perfect strong female lead who is determined to fulfill her dreams through sheer perseverance while keeping God centered in her daily life and actions.  I did find her to a bit stubborn which was a main character flaw that added to the plot overall. As for Brock, I found myself rooting for him to the very end. I quickly fell in ‘love’ with Brock despite his character flaws. Nothing like a black man who knows what he wants who will do literally anything to get. But his journey of self-discovery, identifying what truly matters to him, and his return to God are more high points in the story.

What I liked most about this story is the portrayal of black love; love that endures despite all obstacles and that is centered around God. It shows a positive outcome for black couple and black man worshipping his woman as they as they rekindle their love after a hurtful break up. You’ll see them be open and honest about their feelings and hearts desires to each which is something to be admired by any couple.

If you’re looking for a clean Christian based romance full of secrets, betrayal, and delicious baked goodies then Batch of Love by Natasha D. Frazier should be your next read.
