Surviving the slums of Tejomaya

Release Date: October 15th

And the Sky Bled is a unique tale of 4 people trying to survive the slums of Tejomaya under the pressure of a declining world. Using global warming as a backdrop, this novel hits very close to home not only for its storyline but all in its setting similar to India. Full of action, secrets, and betrayal there's a lot to keep up with and remember as you read the story, which for me made it a little confusing at times. I had to go back and re-read some sections but it did not take away from the novelโ€™s story. The plot is pretty straightforward but there are a few plot twists, some I which I predicted that made the book entertaining

Although the idea of the book was unique and I was glad to see a story based on Indian culture, I just could not get into this story. It didnโ€™t keep me entertained or excited to continue reading it but managed to push through. The characters lacked depth for me and seemed to be morally grey but the dilemmas they faced felt very surface level. I love a fast paced book but the pacing was off โ€“ some parts were really slow was others were so fast that it felt chaotic.

And the Sky Bled is a good story and would be perfect for fans of dystopian climate change based novels.
